El corazón es agua
que se acaricia y canta.
El corazón es puerta
que se abre y se cierra.El corazón es agua

The Funeral of Shelley, by Louis Edouard Fournier, 1889
After he claimed to have seen his Doppelgänger foreboding his own death, Percy Shelley drowned at sea in Italy, less than a month before his 30th birthday. The painting depicts his cremation on the beach, witnessed by friends Trelawny, Lord Byron and Hunt.
Mary Shelley, his widow, is on the left side, kneeling.

"
I went to the Garden of Love,
And saw what I never had seen;
A Chapel was built in the midst,
Where I used to play on the green.And the gates of this Chapel were shut,
And ‘Thou shalt not’ writ over the door;
So I turned to the Garden of Love
That so many sweet flowers bore.And I saw it was filled with graves,
"
And tombstones where flowers should be;
And Priests in black gowns were walking their rounds,
And binding with briars my joys & desires.–The Garden of Love, William Blake -
"The living come with grassy tread
To read the gravestones on the hill;
The graveyard draws the living still,
But never anymore the dead.
The verses in it say and say:
“The ones who living come today
To read the stones and go away
Tomorrow dead will come to stay.”
So sure of death the marbles rhyme,
Yet can’t help marking all the time
How no one dead will seem to come.
What is it men are shrinking from?
It would be easy to be clever
And tell the stones: Men hate to die
And have stopped dying now forever.
I think they would believe the lie."–In a Disused Graveyard, Robert Frost -
I have her secret
deep within
for years I’ve had to hide
I’ve brought the clues
and now I’m here
to bring the truth outside

Bright Star, 2009
Oh gods, thanks to a question of mine, I have a the biggest urge to watch this movie, but I have tons and tons of Psychiatry stuff to get through for an exam on Monday, for crying out loud. This will not do.
I will remember this scene forever and ever. So well done, so powerful and subtle at the same time. Augh, this is the worst— hate Saturday night studying!

Charles Bukowski at his typewriter
messageI’ve been sitting in this
room for hours
typing, and drinking
red wine.I thought I was
alone here.
the door is closed and
the window.now a big fat fly
ugly and black
sits on the edge
of my wine glass.where did it come
from?
so silent, motionless
like that.that’s the way
it might be
with death.
