FIFA World Cup, South Africa - Argentina vs México
Again. So unfair. The goal WAS CLEARLY OFFSIDE, and yet there’s nothing they can do. How embarassing for the referees, and how INFURIATING for México.

FIFA World Cup, South Africa - 11 June 2010, opening ceremony
I’ve been super out of it lately— I’ve not been able to see any matches because of my exams, and the hospital, and the whole stuyding-medicine thing I have going on. BUT Latinamerica is ON FIRE! WTF France? WTF Spain!? WTF Germany? WTF England? WTF Italy? What. the. fuck.
It is now my personal opinion that a Latinamerican team will win this world cup, and this makes me happy, not because I’m in Latinamerica but because all these (ex-)promising teams are NOT UP TO SPEED, PEOPLE. Italy, France, and England were already off in my book, but I still had some esteem for Germany. AND SPAIN. WTF SPAIN!?
I am really amazed at what’s happened in this World Cup, and I think the surprises are not yet over. Which is promising in itself, really. Latinamerica IS ON A ROOOOLL! With the only exception being Honduras (Chile took care of that, ahem), all Latinamerican teams are undefeated thus far. OH, the shivers! I think a Latinamerican team is going to win this cup. Yes. Only that I wish Maradona wouldn’t win this cup, even if it is Argentina.
Anyway, Chile plays Switzerland tomorrow, which also gave a surprise when it defeated Spain last week. This was not a happy-ticklish surprise, more of a oh-I-swallowed-somethin’-weird surprise. Because it means they are not as beatable as we all thought they were, and also Spain was supposed to take them out so that Chile and Spain would qualify to the next round. But tomorrow… GAH! I’m so nervous I can’t talk about it. SO NERVOUS!

FIFA World Cup, South Africa - Argentina vs. Nigeria. June 12th, 2010.
Just when I sat down to watch the game, ambivalent as to whether I should root for my transandinean pal, Argentina, Maradona was there, acting all… Maradona-like. Of course I immediately wanted Nigeria to win after that. I can’t fucking stand Maradona. I am usually very forgiving when it comes to Argentina— their notorious arrogance and cockiness I overlook most of the time (I’ve been to Argentina many times and I’ve never had any bitter encounter with anyone. Outside of Argentina is another story. Argentineans out of Argentina are different), but Maradona just makes me want to spit at the screen. SO arrogant, SO rude, SO foolish. Mano de Dios, my ass. You don’t score goals with your hand! PERIOD.
But Argentina won 1-0. Oh well. At least they’re Latinamericans.

FIFA World Cup team buses - Argentina
Argentina vs. Nigeria starting in 10 mins! I usually want Latinamerican teams to win, but… Argentina? Latinamerica in general is not a big fan. I think I’ll go with the ol’ wait-and-see on this one.

Thought I’d continue with our trans-andinean neighbors, Argentina! That’s Messi right there.
