Keira Knightley and Carey Mulligan on set for Never Let Me Go
You know when the universe is trying to tell you something? Just two days after I finished reading the book, I learned of the existence of the movie (on my Tumblr dash, no less), and got terribly excited over the trailer. But, living in Chile, I don’t often expect movies to come out in sync with their premieres in the Northern Hemisphere, so that was that. Then, I heard on the radio that it was premiering a week from that same day! This was most def the universe talking to me! So magical. I love it when those little coincidences all chug along like a little koinkydink train. Now, right before I went to see the movie (which I loved, obvs!), I read that Carey Mulligan had been cast as Daisy in the upcoming The Great Gatsby movie with Leo as Gatsby. Now that is so exciting! I was totally Carey-inspired with this news— I thought it was perfect casting! And Leo as Gatsby! It’s one of those roles you’d never think of for him, but now somehow I can totally see him as the shy, heart-broken, roaring twenties richie rich! And of course I almost died when I saw the casting photo. I was on a high!
I re-watched An Education, and am in the process of re-reading The Great Gatsby, and I can’t wait (all the way to 2012, sweet jesus! so far away!) to see this perfectly cast movie! So many exclamation points in this post.
